    Questo identificatore di fibre ottiche (OFI), grazie ad una piccola deformazione (reversibile) applicata sulla fibra da misurare, permette di rilevare la presenza di traffico senza interrompere il circuito.
    L'ST3820 opera su fibra da 250 e 900 micron, e su monofibre da 2 a 3 mm, senza la necessità di sostituire la 'testa'
    Lo strumento fornisce inoltre indicazioni sulla direzione del flusso e sulla presenza di segnali modulati a 270, 1000 o 2000 Hz.
    VLF (laser rosso) da 1 mW integrato.
