The Cobra 60-3X machine opens up new horizons in the field of microtrenching for laying microtubes or fenders in FTTH.
Traditionally, micro-trench construction makes use of asphalt cutting machines with which two parallel asphalt cuts are made (at the same time or in different phases) at a distance of about 15-20 cm, and at a depth of 15-20 cm. Subsequently, it is necessary to remove the material between the two cuts with appropriate machinery. This phase is traditionally costly in terms of equipment costs, processing time and the cost of repair material.
This professional asphalt cutter, thanks to the use of 3 high quality diamond blades mounted in a "sandwitch" with appropriate spacers, is able to perform a single cut of about 2 cm width and 15 cm depth (500 mm blades) or up to 20 cm (600 mm blades).
With an optional spacer kit, the cut can be enlarged to 2.5 or 3.0 cm. The volume of material to be removed is therefore much less than with traditional processing (approx. 90% less) and, consequently, time is much reduced, as are restoration costs.
The cut is amply sufficient to accommodate 12/10, 14/10 or fender microtubes.
